BRIEF HISTORY The Darwin Cricket Club was formed in 1983, having been known as Wanderers CC when it was founded in 1977. The Club’s precursors were teams from the YMCA, the Commonwealth Bank and the Uniting Church. The Club has been based at beachside Kahlin Oval, Larrakeyah since moving from Gardens Oval in 1973. The Club’s colours are Royal Blue and Gold and the club emblem is a gold eagle. In 2008 the Darwin Cricket Club has welcomed the inclusion of a Women’s team to the club. There are currently four teams in the competition with players ranging in age from 13 to 50 years with the competition starting off on the 20th of April with a Super 8's format. Games are played on a Sunday morning and usually last a couple of hours in the Super 8’s format. Women of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to come along and have a go, with the competition focusing on Fun, Fitness and Competition. For more information about the Darwin Women’s cricket team please contact Purdey Eades on 0407 614 288 or peades@darwinconvention.com.au
